The vote is set to happen tomorrow. The vote is to determine if the Lafayette City Parish Government should continue with funding the red light enforcement cameras around the city.

The program has been in effect since 2007 and many advocates for it's use claim that it has been a critical tool in improving driver behavior.

A few different members of the council have asked that the program be ended all together. Some of those members include Jared Bellard, Andy Naquin and William Theriot.

Some other members of the council have asked that the program not be ended, but change the scope of it and how it is managed.

Many of the opponents of the program claim that it is only installed in the city to raise money for the the government.

KPEL will keep you updated at the status of the vote.
