LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- Lafayette Parish Sheriff's deputies have released video surveillance of an armed robbery that happened at a Dollar General store Thursday.

Capt. Kip Judice with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office says an undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the store on Carmel Drive, noting that the clerk was not injured during the incident.

The video depicts the suspect--a 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7 black male wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, stone wash colored blue jeans, black shoes, with a red cloth of some type wrapped around his face--escorting the clerk behind the cash register.
