Lafayette High Teacher Arrested

A teacher at Lafayette High school has been arrested, accused of acting inappropriately with her students. Corporal Paul Mouton with the Lafayette Police says on November 15 one of the students told them the teacher, Katie Champagne of Lafayette, had allegedly grabbed her breast and slapped her buttocks. Police believe this happened from September of this year through November. As police began investigating, other students began coming forward. Six victims under the age of 17 have been identified and all of them accuse Champagne of inappropriately touching them. Investigators say video footage from the class room where the activity was alleged to have happened shows  inappropriate touching between Champagne and the students. Champagne faces 6 counts of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile. Authorities are still investigating.
