Officials with Lafayette  Consolidated Government announce that a member of the Lafayette Juvenile Detention Center Staff was honored following an annual symposium of the National Partnership for Juvenile Services.

The symposium was held in October of last year.  Each year, in addition to the multiple training sessions offered, there are also awards.

The Bob Rader Juvenile Detention Service Worker of the Year Award is given to one person at each detention home.

Tylia Ikharia, Operations Manager of the Lafayette Juvenile Detention Facility received the award.

Mike Mouton, administrator of the home, says:

“Mrs. Ikharia always goes above and beyond the call of duty. She is a motivator for the kids and fellow staff members. Her expertise in the field of Juvenile Justice helps move the center forward. We are honored to work alongside Mrs. Tylia Ikharia and congratulate her on her recognition as the 2014 recipient of this prestigious award."
