Lafayette Man Accused Of Flashing Neighborhood Children
28-year-old Scott Hawthorne of Lafayette is in jail for allegedly exposing himself to several neighborhood children as they were walking to their bus stop.
Spokesman Captain Kip Judice with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office says Hawthorne allegedly would stand nude in the doorway of his home on Common Pointe Drive, calling out to the children as they would pass by, stimulating himself and trying to get them to look at him. Captain Judice says the students reported the incident to school officials who called their office on March 24.
Investigators, after confirming Hawthorne's identity, say he had a history of doing this since November of 2013 to these victims and other females.
Hawthorne faces 6 counts of Indecent Behavior with Juveniles and is in jail on a $150,000.00 bond.
