A man who allegedly hasn't been appearing for court dates since early 2012 is now behind bars.

Lafayette City Marshal Nicky Picard says Brennon Nemiah Avie was supposed to appear in court for numerous felony charges, including burglary, drug and gun charges:

  • Failure to Appear in Drug Court for status hearing for Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling-No Bond
  • Failure to Appear in Drug Court for status hearing for Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling-No Bond
  • Failure to Appear in Drug Court for status hearing for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Resisting Arrest by Flight, Carrying a Firearm in a Firearm Free Zone-No Bond

Avie was also wanted on a bench warrant for Failure to Appear on a No Seat Belt Charge with a $50.00 contempt.

Picard says Avie's criminal record dates back to late 2009.
