LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- Police on Wednesday arrested a man after he walked into a Wal-Mart store carrying a holstered gun.

Cpl. Paul Mouton with the Lafayette Police Dept. says a manager for the Ambassador Caffery Wal-Mart asked 28-year-old Joshua Dore to leave the store, but he refused, saying that he was shopping.

Police were immediately called, Mouton said, and as officers arrived, Dore was in the process of leaving in a black Mercury car.

After talking to Dore, and after searching his car, police found a stolen pistol, as well as two other guns and a rifle. The additional weapons are being held until Dore can prove he owns them, Mouton said.

Dore was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a stolen firearm.
