Lafayette Man Arrested After Shooting At South College Road Apartment Complex
37-year-old Larry Rogers has been arrested for allegedly discharging a firearm in an apartment complex in the 800 block of South College Road early Wednesday morning.
Rogers is in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center after Lafayette Police say he was caught standing in the roadway armed with a handgun, allegedly claiming he noticed people in his apartment and grabbed a handgun and fired multiple shots. Several of the shots went through his apartment and into two neighboring ones. But witnesses say that no one was in the apartment with him before he fired his weapon.
Rogers has been charged with Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm within the City, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Stolen Weapon.
No one was injured. Police continue to investigate.
