A man trying to sell his two pit bull puppies was robbed at gunpoint on March 28th, and now Lafayette Police have arrested 19-year-old Shaquille Batiste.

Police say the victim met with Batiste after the man called him saying he was interested in buying two of his puppies.  The victim says after negotiating with the suspect for several minutes, Batiste pulled out a handgun and stole his puppies, cellphone and backpack.

No one was injured during the robbery, but Lafayette Police began their search for the suspect.  He was arrested yesterday on a warrant for Armed Robbery for the incident in the 1100 block of Moss Street.
