Lafayette Man Arrested In Alleged Rape & Burglary Case

24-year-old Ikaika Lindon of Lafayette has been arrested after allegedly breaking into a woman's home, raping and robbing her.

Lafayette Police spokesman Corporal Paul Mouton says Lindon faces charges of Aggravated Burglary, False Imprisonment and Forcible Rape for the December 27 incident, which happened in the 600 block of the NE Evangeline Thruway. Mouton says the victim told officers she knew the suspect, who allegedly used a handgun to force his way into her home.

Police continue to investigate.
