30-year-old Douglas Dugas of Lafayette has been charged with Attempted First Degree Murder for his alleged role in a drive-by shooting on February 22.

Spokesman Corporal Paul Mouton says Dugas is alleged to have driven by the 22-year-old victim's home in the 100 block of Royal and fired multiple shots from a pistol in the direction of the home. The victim has been since released from the hospital after getting shot in the back.

Dugas was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Violent Offenders Task Force. Police continue to investigate.
