LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- A 25-year-old Lafayette man is under arrest and currently being investigated by Lafayette Parish Sheriff's deputies after a four-week investigation.

Sheriff's office spokesperson Capt. Kip Judice said Steven Thomas was arrested on six counts of stalking and three counts of attempted first-degree murder.

"On Sept. 15, 2013, just after 1 a.m., Thomas is accused of firing multiple gunshots into the [Carencro] home of the victims who are known by Thomas," Judice said.

Judice also said that threatening text messages sent to family members of the victim were tracked back to Thomas, which deputies used as the basis for the stalking charges.

Judice said Thomas will be booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center Thursday night, and bond has not yet been set.
