A Lafayette man is caught robbing another man - in the act.

Wednesday night, Lafayette Police say the victim told them he was at a local park when a man approached him with a knife and demanded money from him. According to the victim, the suspect then took him to a nearby convenience store on University Avenue, forcing him at knife point to take out money from an ATM.

While the victim was inside of the store, police say he was able to tell the clerk to call Lafayette Police. Officers then arrived on the scene and arrested the suspect, 19-year-old Montel Wilridge. Wilridge is charged with Attempted Armed Robbery, Aggravated Kidnapping and Resisting an Officer.

The victim was not injured during the robbery. Police continue to investigate.
