Lafayette Man Charged For Threatening Insurance Salesman

St. Mary Parish Sheriff's deputies say 36-year-old Hodges Matthews of Lafayette was arrested yesterday afternoon on several charges after he was accused of threatening an insurance salesman.

Police say that Matthews was charged with the following:

• Simple Assault
• Four counts of resisting an officer
• Battery of a police officer

Police say Matthews was approached on Friendship Alley, but he fled.

Deputies say they later caught up to Matthews who they say admitted to threatening the individual.
