A man is indicted for allegedly defacing two Lafayette churches. In an update to this story, Brian Crimiel of Lafayette is charged with spray painting racial slurs on St. James Baptist Church on Plum Street and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on 12th Street back in February of last year.

Authorities say he also left behind notes with hate-filled language. Crimiel was also charged with lying to the police. He faces a total of up to 26 years in prison and fines of over $500,000.
