Lafayette Murder Suspect Apprehended

The Lafayette Police Department is investigating a Monday afternoon shooting that left one man dead. According to Police they were called out to the 100 block of Alfred Street off of North Pierce where two men had been arguing in the street. One of the men produced a handgun and fired one shot which killed the victim. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin. A suspect has been taken into custody and his name has not been released as of this time.
