Lafayette Parish 15-Year-Old To Be Tried As An Adult
Earl Joseph III was indicted this week on first degree murder charges, and has been charged as an adult.
Joseph is accused of shooting and killing Jockey Lot employee Michael Patin of Arnaudville on Sunday. The man was shot in the back.
Joseph, 15-years-old, was transferred from the Lafayette Detention Center to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center where he will be treated as an adult. Lafayette Parish Sheriff's officials says Joseph will be housed separately from the general population of the jail.
A funeral for Michael Patin will be held today.
