Thirty-year-old Moses Derrick Arceneaux is wanted for second-degree murder following a shooting early Sunday morning.

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman John Babin reported deputies responded to the shooting in the 100 block of Latin Drive just after midnight Saturday.

Witnesses told police Arceneaux and the victim had gotten into a verbal altercation which led to the shooting.

The victim, yet to be identified, was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police have issued a warrant for Arceneaux on a second-degree murder charge.
