The Lafayette Police Department is searching for two armed robbery suspects involved in two separate incidents that happened minutes apart Saturday evening. Investigators are unsure at this time if the two incidents are related.

At about 6:45 Saturday evening, a suspect, described as a bald, black male in his 50s, entered a convenience store at 2301 Ambassador Caffery Parkway brandishing a handgun and demanded cash. He then fled on foot with an unknown amount of money.

Five minutes later, police received a report of another robbery at the Valero across the street. The suspect in that robbery is described as a black male in his 40s. He entered the store, armed with a handgun, and demanded money. He then fled the scene in a white SUV.

There were no injuries in either robbery. Anyone with information is asked to contact either the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS (8477).
