UPDATE – Baton Rouge Man Dies In Accidental Shooting In Lafayette

Update: Lafayette Police say the victim, 21-year-old Colin Norwood of Baton Rouge, has been pronounced dead. Officers continue to investigate.

Lafayette Police are investigating an early morning shooting at an apartment complex on Bertrand Drive.

Police went to the apartment in the 1400 Bertrand just after 12:30 this morning to find the 21-year-old Baton Rouge man with a gunshot would to the chest.

The victim is in critical condition at a local hospital.

Detectives are interviewing another 21-year-old man who was in that apartment at the time of the shooting.

Detectives are working to determine the cause of the shooting.
