Lafayette Police arrested 23-year-old Ben Narcisse Jr. of Lafayette, and they have charged him with Attempted First Degree Murder after police allege he shot a man in a parking lot on December 5.

Around 8 o'clock on Thursday, December 5, Lafayette Police believe it was Narcisse who fired a shot from a car that parked next to the 18-year-old victim's car at the convenience store.  The victim was shot in the face, and taken to a hospital for treatment.

The crime is said to have happened in the 1800 block of the Northeast Evangeline Thruway when the victim said he went to the store to pick someone up.  The SUV then parked near him.

Police say a motive behind the shooting has yet to be established.
