One person was arrested Sunday after Lafayette Police said he shot his vehicle several times.

According to police department spokesperson Cpl. Paul Mouton, officers responded to an apartment on Rue de Belier after getting reports that someone was shooting a weapon.

When officers arrived, Mouton said they found a 50-year-old man whom they believed to be responsible for discharging the weapon.

Police took him into custody, Mouton said, and he was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.

No injuries were reported, and additional charges are pending Mouton said
