Lafayette Police Continue Search For Shooting Suspect

Lafayette Police are still searching for a shooting suspect after a man was shot in the stomach Saturday night.

Police were called out to the 1100 block of North University after an 18-year-old male victim says he was in his home on Madeline Avenue, when he says a black male suspect approached his car.

The victim was shot once in the stomach.

The victim drove to a nearby convenience store to call police.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
