The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission's 7th Annual DWI Awards Ceremony was held Tuesday in Baton Rouge, and the Lafayette Police Department received recognition for their work at getting drunk drivers off our streets.

Lafayette Police were honored for arresting 744 impaired drivers in 2014; the most in the state.

In addition to that recognition, Lafayette Police Corporal Tyler Mitcham was recognized for having the most arrests by a single officer for last year.  Mitcham made 205 arrests.
