Lafayette Police Department Honored For OWI Program

The Lafayette Police Department has been recognized for its successful OWI program. Police Chief Jim Craft says the department ranked #1 for total OWI arrests in 2011, arresting 1142 offenders. Corporal Jarvis Mayfield ranked #1 in the state for total OWI arrests last year by an individual officer, with 364 arrests. Corporal Tommy Aphalyarath came in right behind him with 359 arrests.
