It doesn't get much better than this.

Lafayette Police escorted Corporal Michael Middlebrook's daughter to school on her first day to school.

Cpl. Middlebrook was shot while in the line of duty last fall and died as a result of his injuries. Well, his brothers in blue would not let his little girl show up at school alone on her first day.

They escorted Cpl. Middlebrook's daughter and wife onto campus as they were greeted by cheerleaders, students, and others.

What a beautiful gesture by L.P.D on this little girl's big day. We hope that she and all the students have a great school year.
