Lafayette police are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect believed to be responsible for vandalizing a parking garage on Saint Louis Street.

According to police department Cpl. Paul Mouton, a white male suspect is seen on surveillance footage committing "substantial damage" to the garage located at the corner of Saint Louis Street and Saint Landry Street.

The suspect allegedly stole two fire extinguishers and damage two surveillance cameras, Mouton said.

The cost of the damage is more than $2,000, Mouton added.
