The Lafayette Police Department hit the streets of Lafayette Monday night to meet and greet residents.

Under the leadership of Chief Toby Aguillard officers went into the Truman neighborhood to meet residents. This all in an attempt to have citizens meet officers face-to-face.

In the day and age we're in when some in communities don't trust police, it's great to see police actually getting out of their cars and shaking hands with citizens.

Neighborhoods are always safer when citizens and police work together and that seems to be the mission of the Lafayette Police Department.

Job well-done, LPD!
