Lafayette Police Investigate Armed Robbery

Lafayette City Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at 7:20 Saturday night in the 400 block East University Avenue.

According to Cpl. Paul Mouton, the suspect entered a convenience store with a shirt pulled over his head.  He produced a gun and demanded money.  The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 6 feet tall, heavy build wearing a black jacket, tan pants, white shoes and a black New Orleans Saints hat.  If you know the whereabouts of the suspect or have any information about this robbery you are asked to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 337-232-TIPS.

There were no injuries reported during the robbery.
