Lafayette Stabbing Suspect Arrested

UPDATE -- Lafayette Police have arrested a 19-year-old believed to be responsible for a stabbing over the weekend.

Cpl. Paul Mouton with the Lafayette Police Dept. said Marcus Arceneaux turned himself in at the police department without incident. Arceneaux is being charged with attempted second degree murder, Mouton said.

The case remains under investigation.

May 4, 2013 -- Lafayette City Police were called out to a local hospital at approximately 2:30AM today in regards to a 20 year old man admitted with multiple stab wounds.

According to investigators the victim was involved in a fight at the corner of Eighth and Simcoe Streets when was he stabbed numerous times.  The victim remains hospitalized in serious condition and the unidentified suspect is still at large.
