Lafayette Police Investigate Stabbing At Men’s Club, Attempted Murder Suspect Wanted

UPDATE: Lafayette Police Department spokesperson Cpl. Paul Mouton said Monday

morning a warrant for attempted second degree murder was issued for 29-year-old Jermaine Pete of Scott.

The victim in the incident at Lipstick Gentleman's Club was stabbed twice during the fight that broke out, Mouton said.

No other injuries were reported.

ORIGINAL: Lafayette police are investigating an early morning stabbing at a men's club on Johnston Street.

Police responded to the call at Lipstick Gentleman's Club at about 12:30 a.m. Monday.

Officers said a large fight apparently broke out during which the victim was allegedly stabbed. Witnesses driving by the club during the early morning hours said patrons could be seen scattering from the business and parking lot.

Police said the victim was found at a local hospital where he was treated and released for his injuries, but they are still trying to identify the suspect.
