LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- Police in Lafayette are investigating the Monday robbery of a Moss Street pawn shop.

Cpl. Paul Mouton with the Lafayette Police Department says a black male walked into the Bayou State Pawn Shop carrying a shotgun. Mouton says he ordered everyone inside to lie down on the floor, and then he took an undisclosed amount of cash from the drawer.

The suspect and an employee somehow got into some type of struggle, Mouton says. He was last seen running south on Moss Street.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5-foot-10, 185 pounds, and he was wearing a bandana over his face.

If you have any information, you're asked to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
