Lafayette Police Looking For ‘Witness’ In Fatal Crash

Lafayette Police need your help trying to find someone who may have been involved with a fatal crash Sunday night.

54-year-old Wilton John Hamilton of Duson passed away after police say he crashed his pickup into a utility pole in the 3200 block of Cameron Street in a single car crash. Now, police say they are trying to find a potential witness that is believed to have stopped and left the crash scene before first responders arrived.

Police are looking for a white man in his mid 30s who was driving a newer model, dark colored pickup truck.

Authorities are asking that witness or anyone with information about the witness to call Corporal Chris Beasley of the Lafayette Police Department Traffic Section at 337-291-8614.
