Lafayette Police Offer Home Safety Tips For Holiday Season

Chief Jim Craft and the employees of Lafayette Police Department would like to wish all of its citizens a “Happy and Safe Holiday Season”. The Police Department offers the following safety tips while at home.

Holiday Crime Prevention Tips At Home:

• Keep the outside of your home well lit with doors locked and window curtains closed.
• Keep the outside of your home well lit with doors locked and window curtains closed.
• After the holidays, don't advertise gifts received by the boxes left for the garbage collection. Destroy boxes and place in a sealed, non-clear garbage bag.

In addition to the tips, the Lafayette Police Department will have additional patrols working the retail areas and enforcing Handicap Parking violations.

Citizens are reminded to report all suspicious persons or situations by calling 911.
