A Lafayette police officer who shot an armed robbery suspect at the beginning of this months is still on paid administrative leave.

Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office Spokesman Captain Craig Stansbury says the investigation into the shooting of 28-year-old Jerome Turner of Scott continues.

Scott is listed in stable condition at a Lafayette hospital.

Stansbury says the Lafayette officer in the shooting case has not been identified.  The officer shot Turner multiple times after Turner allegedly confronted him in a convenience store parking lot.

Turner is a suspect in three business robberies in Lafayette and one in Scott.
