Lafayette Police Say Shooting Suspect Turned Himself In

A 17-year-old Lafayette man has turned himself in following an afternoon shooting on New Year's Eve.

Police say Dovontay Helaire returned to a home on Chester Street after earlier getting into a fight there.

He allegedly fired several shots before fleeing the scene.

He's being charged with four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.
