Lafayette Police were called out to investigate after two people were robbed at gunpoint, and one victim was shot last night.

Police say the victims were walking in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 173 South Beadle Road when the suspects came up to them.

 

The first victim had the gun turned on him, and he was forced to get on the ground.  His shoes, jewelry and cash were taken.

One of the suspects held the other victim at gunpoint, demanded his property, then allegedly shot him three times.  The victim is in critical condition at a local hospital.

Police have warrants out for 17-year-old Joseph Freeman and 20-year-old Denzel Jones.

Freeman is wanted on a charge of attempted first degree murder and armed robbery, while Jones has a warrant out on a charge of armed robbery.

Freeman is from Lafayette, while Jones is from Carencro.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of either person is urged to call the Lafayette Police Department or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
