Lafayette Police Search For Suspects In Tuesday Shooting
The Lafayette Police Department is searching for a suspect wanted for a shooting that occurred near the intersection of Deballion and Doc Duhon Streets.
Police spokesperson Cpl. Paul Mouton said officers responded to the scene where investigators say four people began arguing in a yard on Doc Duhon Street. Two of the men involved brandished pistols and exchanged gunfire.
One victim was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries he suffered when a bullet grazed his head.
The other three individuals involved fled from the scene before police arrived.
Investigators have identified one of the four suspects who is believed of being the aggressor in the disturbance. Police issued an arrest warrant for 19-year-old Kevante Richmond for attempted second-degree murder.
Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Richmond, or any of the other suspects, is encouraged to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
