UPDATE Wednesday, June 20 - The victim of the hit and run, Christopher Constantine of Lafayette, died from his injuries at a local hospital Tuesday. Lafayette Police have charged Jamar Dennis with felony hit and run after he turned himself in to authorities. Police say Dennis was the driver of the vehicle involved in the Sunday night hit and run on Acadian Hills Lane.

Monday, June 18 - Lafayette Police say early Sunday Lafayette Police were called out to the 600 block of Acadian Hills Lane after someone found a pedestrian lying in the roadway.  Police says the initial evidence suggests the man was the victim of a hit and run.  The unidentified man is in critical condition at a local hospital.

Lafayette Police report the suspect(s) vehicle is possibly silver in color, with a plastic chrome front grill.  Lafayette Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.  The crash remains under investigation by the Lafayette Police Department’s Traffic Division.

In another case from the weekend, Lafayette Police are currently trying to figure out what happened after two shooting victims turned up at a local hospital.  Police were called out just after 11 p.m. Saturday to find that each victim had been shot in the front torso area of their bodies.

Lafayette Police say they are still looking for a suspect or suspects in this case, and what they can tell us right now is that the shooting occurred in the 200 block of Hobson Street, and then they were driven to the hospital.

Lafayette Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
