UPDATE:  Lafayette Police Spokesman Cpl. Karl Ratcliff said the suspect--Nataja Portalis--has been arrested.

Ratcliff said Portalis was taken into custody around 12:30 p.m. today.

She was booked on the warrant for two counts of Attempted Manslaughter. 

One of the victim remains in critical condition.

EDITOR'S NOTE: The suspect was further identified as "Nataja" Portalis, not “Natasha”, which was the name given to investigators initially.

Lafayette Police are searching for 21-year-old Natasha Portalis. Detectives say she is alleged to have intentionally hit two women with her car at around 2 o'clock
Sunday morning.

While one woman received only minor injuries, police say the other woman is in critical condition at a local hospital.

Police say this hit and run incident happened in the 100 block of East Cypress Street early yesterday morning after there was some type of fight between them.

Portalis is being sought and will be charged with two counts of Attempted Manslaughter.

The woman was seen driving a newer model dark blue Nissam Maxima.
