There will be a 6 o'clock Police Memorial Day Ceremony at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church this Thursday evening in Lafayette.

Lafayette Police say the public is invited to attend the ceremony.  It will be held at 400 Camellia Boulevard.

Law enforcement officers from surrounding agencies will be attending the service along with relatives of slain officers.

A police motorcade will depart from the Lafayette Police Department at 5:30 p.m. to make its way over to St. Barnabas Church.

This year the memorial service will honor the memory of 19 Acadiana area law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty dating back to 1926.
