The Lafayette Chamber of Commerce's political action committee, Empower PAC, made a total of 18 endorsements yesterday.

The committee focuses on those races that affect Lafayette, ranging from the City-Parish President to State and Federal House and Senate seats. Empower PAC says it endorses progressive and innovative candidates and those who keep the best interests of business in mind. For Lafayette Parish City Council, Britt Latiolais of District 5, Sam Dore of District 6, Don Bertrand of District 7, Keith Patin of District 8, and Walter Campbell of District 9 received endoresements. Empower PAC has chosen to stay out of the hotly contested District 3 race between incumbent Brandon Shelvin and Lloyd Rochon. Nathan Pike, Newstalk 96.5 KPEL.
