Lafayette Redevelopment Bill Withdrawn

Lafayette Representative Joel Robideaux has withdrawn a bill which would have created the Lafayette Parish Redevelopment Authority. Robideaux says there were several concerns with the bill. Chief among them was whether it was clear enough that any proposed tax would be voted upon by the people. The bill would have created a mechanism for redeveloping condemned and blighted properties on which taxes had not been paid.
