Lafayette Schools Chief Gets $190K – 4 Year Contract

The Lafayette Parish School Board voted 5-4 last night to approve a four-year, $190,000-a-year contract for new superintendent Pat Cooper.
Cooper told the board last week that those were his terms for the job. He’s getting $33,000 more than retiring superintendent Burnell Lemoine.
He also got more than $65,000 in benefits and expenses including an annual automobile allowance of $8,400, a cellphone allowance of $160 per month and full health insurance premium payments for himself and one dependent. He’ll have 10 days off a year for consulting work, with approval to keep all payments for those jobs.
