Lafayette Sex Arrest

Shawn Copeland was arrested yesterday after authorities say he tried to meet with what he thought was a 14-year-old girl for sex. Detectives working undercover say the Maurice man contacted them in an online chat room and during the conversation, they say Copeland asked the fictitious underage girl to meet him at a location in Lafayette Parish. When Copeland arrived at the location, detectives were waiting for him.
