Lafayette Police were called out yesterday morning to the 400 block of Edison Street after a man says someone was firing shots at him. Police say 25-year-old Fenton J. Carter pulled up in front of a man's home and started shooting.

Corporal Paul Mouton reports Carter was yelling at the victim before he pulled out a handgun and began firing multiple shots in the direction of the victim.

The man was not hurt.

Police say Carter took off in his blue Chevrolet Caprice.  Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Carter on charges of attempted 2nd degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Authorities say around 9:30 last night Carter was arrested without incident here in the city by Lafayette Police.  Their investigation is ongoing.
