7-year-old Liberty Lightfoot of Prairie Elementary School in Lafayette is one of 13 students from across Louisiana that will have their artwork featured for display in the Louisiana's Governor's Mansion for the month of July.

“The theme of the 2015 Environmental Awareness Art & Language Arts Contest was ‘Biodiversity in Our World,’" says First Lady Supriya Jindal. "The young artists of Louisiana never cease to amaze me with their gift of imagination and artistic abilities. The pieces for the month of July beautifully portray the diversity of wildlife in the great state of Louisiana.”

Since 2008, a new group of art is displayed every month on a wall dedicated by the Jindal family to children's artwork. These 13 students were chosen from over 750 entries in four different age groups.
