LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — City-parish officials will collect household hazardous materials on Saturday.

The collection will take place from 8 a.m.-noon at the Cajun Field parking lot off West Congress Street.

Lafayette residents can drop off household chemicals such as paint and paint products, pesticides, insecticides, chemical cleaners and mercury.

Electronics such as computers, cellphones, and copiers will not be accepted, according to city-parish environmental quality manager Mark Pope.

Other items that will not be accepted include tires, motor oil and batteries.
