A cold front and a line of strong thunderstorms is poised to push through the heart of Acadiana this morning. The current radar scan shows where the heaviest activity is at this moment.

There have been severe thunderstorm watches posted for much of Acadiana. The western sections of the listening area are under a potential severe weather threat until 11am. Other sections of the area, including the city of Lafayette, will be under a severe weather watch until 1pm.

Those hoping for better weather for Downtown Alive or the Boudin Festival might get their wish later this afternoon and for the early part of Saturday.The forecast does call for rain chances to diminish with the passage of the cold front around midday today.

Sunday does hold another threat of heavy rain and severe thunderstorms.
