Lafayette Woman Hit By Train Saturday
LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — Lafayette Police are investigating an accident involving a pedestrian who was hit by a train.
KATC-TV reports it happened about 7:30 a.m. Saturday at W. Third Street and the railroad tracks. Authorities say a 61-year-old woman, of Lafayette, was crossing the track when she was hit by a westbound train.
The woman was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Her name has not been released.
The incident remains under investigation.
